The online video downloader space is often associated with poor user experiences — overloaded with ads, spam, and even potential security risks. We set out to create the World’s Best Video Downloader: a safe, reliable, and intuitive tool designed for educational and creative use. Our goal was to empower creators worldwide with a seamless experience that puts usability and trust first.

To address this, we built a web application using frontier web technologies: a fast, reliable video downloader supporting over 1,800 platforms. The first version launched in 2018, followed shortly by v2.0, which was recognized on Product Hunt with a 2nd Product of the Day award.

Today, over 150,000 users across 172 countries rely on YouTubeDLD. The platform remains free to use, with an optional annual premium subscription. We continue to refine our suite of B2C web apps and expand our digital services to meet the needs of a growing global audience.
